Effective October 1, 2025, House Bill 1463 requires all sellers of pseudoephedrine products in the state to participate in the NPLEx electronic tracking system. Products from manufacturers that do not participate will no longer be processed through NPLEx after that date.

Please note survey open for public input on development of Rural Health Transformation Plan. On July 3, Congress passed via the FY 2025 budget reconciliation process H.R. 1, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (OBBBA). Section 71401 of the Bill modifies Section 2105 of the Social Security Act and establishes a $50 billion grant program ($10 billion per fiscal year for FY 2026 – 2030) for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to distribute payments to the 50 states through the Rural Health Transformation Program. Applications to participate in the grant program must be approved by the HHS Secretary no later than December 31, 2025.

The Office of the Governor, in coordination with the Division of Medicaid (DOM) and the State Department of Health (MSDH), intends to solicit public input through a public survey and a stakeholder forum by the Office of the Governor, develop a Rural Health Transformation Plan (Plan) and submit a timely application for the grant funding. The Office of the Governor will make the final selection for initiatives included in the Plan.

The Board of Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Benefit Manager Compliance Director. This position will oversee PBM compliance, policy development and administrative actions as directed by legislative authority regarding PBM activities, as outlined in the Pharmacy Benefit Prompt Pay Act, the Pharmacy Benefit Audit Integrity Act and other applicable state and federal laws and regulations. The individual will serve as the agency’s primary point of contact with internal and external stakeholders for PBM matters. This position welcomes applications from both non-pharmacists and pharmacists. As stated in the job description, the successful candidate’s actual salary will be based on their relevant experience.

Operated by Gainwell Technologies, the PBA will also assume all pharmacy prior authorization responsibilities for drugs submitted on pharmacy claims. DOM will continue to require the use of the Universal Preferred Drug List (PDL). This decision comes after careful consideration and evaluation of various factors aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency in the Medicaid delivery system.

Medicaid members should notice no disruption in their care if providers are prepared for this change.

Telligen to replace Alliant Health Solutions and Kepro as Medicaid UM/QIO Vendors: 

Early in 2024, the Division of Medicaid (DOM) will transition to a new Utilization Management/Quality Improvement Organization (UM/QIO) vendor, Telligen. 

Telligen will replace the following vendors:  

  • Alliant Health Solutions, who was responsible for medical authorization requests for fee-for-service (FFS) Medicaid members, and  
  • Kepro (formerly eQHealth Solutions), who was responsible for advanced imaging authorization requests for FFS Medicaid members. 

To ensure a smooth transition, Telligen web portal registration instructions and educational materials will be shared in the upcoming weeks through a variety of communication avenues to ensure no provider lacks access to necessary resources and assistance. Updates will also be publicized on the DOM website and Late Breaking News. 

Please note: Prior authorizations for members enrolled in MississippiCAN and CHIP will continue to be handled by the respective coordinated care organization.

With the federal government ending the continuous Medicaid coverage requirement on March 31, the Mississippi Division of Medicaid (DOM) is notifying Medicaid members that eligibility renewals will begin on April 1. DOM urges all Medicaid members to make sure their contact information is correct by clicking here 

To prepare for the return to annual renewals, DOM is sending notices to recipients alerting them to the change in federal requirements and to look for renewal forms in the mail in the months ahead.
