Also in California, the Board of Pharmacy extends its sincere appreciation to its licensees for assisting the survivors of the Los Angeles Fires. Your commitment to California consumers is commendable. The Board has received notification that the Emergency Prescription Assistance Program (EPAP) ended on March 15. Once the EPAP activation ended, the vendor stopped processing further prescription claims for individuals in the designated Los Angeles zip codes.

The Department of Health Care Finance (DCHF) published a final rule permitting billing for MTM services. The rule was effective February 24, 2025.

Also, in the District of Columbia, the DCHF is hosting the next Pharmacy Provider Forum on March 18 and 19. The content is identical for both sessions. The invitation provides more detail and information to RSVP no later than March 17.

NACDS received an email from Pharmacy Services stating that “effective January 15, 2022, the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) is covering FDA-approved COVID-19 Home test kit(s) dispensed by pharmacies enrolled with DC Medicaid. Pharmacies must submit claims through the Fee-for-Service (FFS) Medicaid Pharmacy Benefit Manager to receive reimbursement from DHCF for HSCSN enrollee(s). HSCSN enrollees are eligible for test kits through the DC Medicaid Fee-For-Service program with no co-payment. The Department of Health approved a final rule requiring reporting of vaccines by all providers, including pharmacies, with 24 hours of vaccine administration to the registry. The rule will be effective when published in the DC Register.
