The Department of Health and Human Services posted the draft minutes for the Medicaid Drug Utilization Review (DUR) Board’s October 27 meeting. The next meeting will be held on January 12, 2027.
Also in Nebraska, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) contracted with Myers & Stauffer to perform a pharmacy cost of dispensing survey. The due date for the cost of dispensing survey is December 3. The cost of dispensing survey tool and instructional letters are available online. All providers are encouraged to participate. Please reach out to Myers & Stauffer (disp_survey@mslc.com) for more information.
Finally in Nebraska, to help prevent fraud, starting November 4, the state’s Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards have the capability to block purchases made outside of the state in an effort to help protect Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and recipients whose EBT card information has been stolen. The out-of-state blocking includes both in-person purchases across state lines and online orders with out-of-state delivery or pickup locations. All EBT recipients will have the option to turn off out-of-state blocking when needed, particularly for individuals who live near a state border. The blocking feature will reset to “on” at the end of each calendar month and must be manually turned off by the recipient to resume allowing out-of-state purchases.
