The Department of Health has filed an Emergency Amendment, effective February 10, 2022 requiring immunization against COVID-19 for all workers in a licensed health care facility and other practicing health care providers.

On Wednesday, December 15th ,Governor McKee held a news conference to announce that he will be instituting several COVID mitigation measures, one being a modified mask mandate, in Rhode Island. If the space can hold 250 or more, masks will be required, under 250, masks or proof of vaccine will be required. See the official Executive Order. These temporary measures will take effect on Monday, December 20, 2021.

The Department of Health has extended (60 days) the Emergency Regulation requiring immunization against COVID-19 for all workers in licensed health care facilities and other practicing health care providers.

The Rhode Island Department of Health has issued a new regulation which requires that all employees, interns and volunteers in RIDOH licensed healthcare facilities and all RIDOH licenses healthcare providers must receive their final dose of COVID19 vaccines by October 1, 2021. The regulation applies to all individuals who in RIDOH licensed Health care facilities AND all licensed healthcare providers, whether they work in a licensed facility or not. The Department of Health has developed an FAQ which will be updated as needed.

This week NACDS reached out to the Medicaid Director to urge that Rhode Island consider adjusting its COVID vaccination administration fee to cover pharmacy costs, using the Medicare rate as a reference. The Director stated that he would support such an adjustment. It is now in the internal review process.
