The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will launch a new iServe Nebraska portal on January 27 that will serve as an easy-to-use system for individuals to apply to get help with food, heat, electricity, healthcare, childcare, and other essential needs. Individuals may apply for a single benefit or more at the same time. Also, starting March 1, DHHS will review each Medicaid member’s current eligibility. Members who are no longer eligible for Medicaid will have their information forwarded to the federal marketplace for follow-up about other coverage options.

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) posted a Health Alert for COVID-19 Therapeutics Updates and Shortages of Oseltamivir, Amoxicillin, & Amoxicillin-Clavulanate (December 8).

Also in Nebraska, the DHHS posted a Notice of Public Hearing has been posted for changes to Nebraska Administrative Code (NAC), including Wholesale Drug Distributors (172 NAC 131) and Delegated Dispensing Permits (172 NAC 134). The hearing will be held on January 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Written comments may be provided no later than the day of the hearing.

Finally in Nebraska, the DHHS announced the issuance of Summer Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) benefits to certain Nebraska households.

Gov. Pete Ricketts (R) issued Executive Order 22-05, to expire on December 31, 2022. Executive Order 22-02, which is currently scheduled to expire on September 30, 2022, shall remain in effect through December 31, 2022, and the identical statutory waivers and conditions contained within Executive Orders 21-12 and 21-15 that were extended by Executive Order 22-02 shall remain in effect through December 31, 2022, except that Medication Aide renewals will no longer be deferred after March 31, 2022. The Department of Health and Human Services prepared FAQs related to Executive Order 22-05.
